Last night we went out to dinner for Sushi with my family for my early birthday celebration since my mom will be out of town on my real birthday. We were all having a lot of fun, maybe too much fun… All of a sudden I heard a loud noise and some big gasps. Kinley had been cracking up laughing and some how her face went forward and smashed on the table. Grandma held her for a while but she still seemed to be in pain. As I wiggled her teeth to check them I could feel the the two bottom teeth were very loose and that perhaps the two top teeth were a little bit loose as well. Since it was Sunday evening there was not a lot that we could do other than give her some Mortin and wait until the morning to call the dentist.
The Dentist Visit:
I called the dentist first thing this morning they told us to come in right away. Kinley is only five and luckily these are her baby teeth but they still felt concerned and wanted to have a look. The dentist was so kind and gentle with her. She felt her teeth and took some x-rays. I was told that the two bottom teeth were extremely loose and would fall out soon. Then I was told that not only would she be loosing her two bottom teeth but she would also be loosing her top FOUR teeth as well. With Kinley sitting right next to me I did everything that I could to not cry in front of her but my eyes were filling up with tears and my hear felt broken. I was not at all prepared for my baby girl to loose one tooth let alone SIX. I am still having a hard time with this. She really should not be loosing these teeth for another 1-2 years. Based on the x-rays Kinleywas going to loose her teeth early anyway but I still feel a little sad that she is growing up so fast and I would have liked her to have lost her teeth at a normal rate.
As I wipe my tears I know that these are just baby teeth and in the realm of things it could be a lot worse. My sweet girl is healthy and that is what is important. I feel extremely blessed that my children and my family are all healthy, they are my everything!
