Okay here it is. I have had this in my drafts for about three months now, I am such a procrastinator!
Many people have been asking me if I am still cutting sugar from my diet so I decided to write about it. It has been almost 9 months since I took on the challenge of reducing my sugar intake and yes, I am still committed. It has been a long road for me and one that started off pretty rough. If you recall my previous post about this I talked about my withdrawal symptoms such as headaches, moodiness and just an overall crappy feeling. When I reached the three month point I was finally starting to feel better and the negative side effects had subsided.
This has turned into much more than just cutting sugar. We are making healthier lifestyle choices as an entire family. The first thing that every woman wants to know is how much weight have I lost. Unfortunately, the weight loss did not happen as fast as I wanted it to, however, in the past nine months I have lost about 20 plus pounds. The very slow weight loss can be very frustrating at times but yet I have to stay centered on my long term goal and the positive changes that I have seen such as my hair has totally changed, it is crazy and I never expected this. My entire life I have hated my fine, limp hair. Since I have been eating differently my hair has been fuller and more healthy looking. My skin is another thing that people have commented on and I have seen positive changes there as well. I have also lost inches and gained muscle so I try to remember this when I feel discouraged by the scale not moving down as fast as I would expect it to.
My husband has been such a huge support and motivator. He praises and encourages me daily. This weekend he took me to the mall to get a new pair of jeans and I was so excited to see that I moved down 4 pant sizes in the waist, I did not expect that at all. I also want to mention that my hubby is also exercising, eating better and loosing weight. I am so proud of him and I think he looks amazing!
I also attribute my weight loss to my workout plan. I have been working out consistently for the past nine months. I do a combination of circuit training with weights, cardio, cycling and core exercises. It is a huge help that I have friends to workout with and my AMAZING friend Kristi is the best workout coach that I could ever ask for, I love her! I am sorry that I do not have before and after photos to post but that is just not me. I love writing on my blog about my girls and documenting our family memories but it is more challenging for me to write about myself personally let alone post photos of my body.
