Committed to the Challenge

This week I went to the Team in Training meeting and was able to meet the coaches, mentors and some of my team members. I am so excited and a little nervous too. My goal was to just sign-up to be on the walk team but I was given such a hard time about walking that I hesitantly signed up to be on the run team, thanks a lot Reggie! They have promised me that after four months of training for 6 days a week that it will be ready to run 13.1 miles, I can only pray that is true.

I have been sticking to my training and getting up every morning at 6:00 a.m for my workouts. I have been feeling really exhausted these past few days, mainly because I stay up until midnight and I know that my body needs more sleep than that! I will be working out with the TIT coaches and team members twice a week and then doing buddy trainings 4 days week. I just hope that by the end of this that I fit into my size 2 jeans again!!

I will be posting here often about my journey with Team in Training as well as I will post my fundraising web page soon. I still cannot believe that I am signed up to run a half marathon.  I am very determined to do this and I am really excited that Reggie and I are doing it together, I am up for the challenge!

This event is about more than just my husband and I running a half marathon.  We are training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma, blood cancers and myeloma from taking more lives.

I’m completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers and in honor of many people that I personally know that have been affected by cancer and to those who I have loved so dearly that lost the fight against this terrible disease.
