Hadley’s Candy Party

For Hadley’s 4th birthday she wanted a candy party. This such a fun theme to plan but one that you can easily get carried away with and also overwhelmed by the choices. For Haddie’s candy party I decided that we would plan the colors around the gumball’s. I think that a colorful party suits Hadley’s personality so I wanted it to be really bright and fun!

Haddie had so much fun at her candy party. There was not a lack for candy. We had a large candy buffet table that the children were able to fill there own favor boxes full of candy. I had a lot of fun making chocolate dipped marshmallows and pretzels. Hadley and her friends very enjoyed the mounds of sweets and the mommy’s maybe not so much…

Nicole - Hello Aimee. This is my first time visiting your blog as I was doing a search for a candy party. My daughter is turning 8 in April…yes she too plans way ahead…and is wanting this as her theme. I think it works beautifully for younger children given you can play Candyland along with other activities that you did, but just not sure what I can do for older kids besides let them eat candy. Tossing around the idea of watching Willy Wonka, although we just had my sons 5th b-day and had an outdoor movie night…so of course can’t do the same thing. We also had a scavenger hunt for his party which again would be a thought but can’t duplicate!:-)

Anyway, I just had a few random questions for you that I am hoping you wouldn’t mind answering. Love all your decorations but not sure what you used to accomplish it (candies along walkway, fluffy things hanging overhead). Did you purchase or make them?

My other question is how on earth you get your husband to go along with the parties? I go a little nuts as well but must say my husband literally does not have a clue to what will transpire that day until I move everything out for him to begin setting up. Only then does he realize what is happening:-)

So glad I found your blog as it is fabulous and you are amazingly talented. And, I loved your blog on the Nike race. I too am a distance runner and run a part of a tri-team. I am in my taper stage right now…thank God…for the Rock n Roll marathon in Phoenix on the 17th but have always wanted to do the Nike race as well…also for the necklace:-)

Take care and have a wonderful holiday season. So excited to share my latest find!

admin - Hi Nicole,

Thank you for reading my blog and for all of the sweet compliments.

The Candy lollipops in the walkway were made with butterfly nets that I bought at the Dollar Tree. I tied the nest in a knot and then wrapped it with cellophane. I am sure that there are others ways to do this. You could also use strongman balls and wrap them in colored cellophane.

I bought the hanging Pom Pom Balls online at
You can also find directions on how to make them yourself on the Martha Stewart website. They are made out of tissue paper.

Best Wishes to You!!!
